Montemar consists of two beautifully appointed villas with a total capacity of 12 guests, in a 43-acre property, offering privacy and plenty of opportunities to connect with nature and wildlife. Each villa has its own private chef and housekeeping staff. Guests at Montemar enjoy the personalized attention of the owners, who create unique and meaningful experiences in the Galápagos, using their knowledge, experience and passion for the islands. Each trip is carefully planned, combining the exploration of the islands in search for wildlife colonies, interaction with the local community, and time to relax and enjoy at your own pace.
Montemar is at the forefront of sustainability in Galápagos: green energy, harvested water, sustainable architecture. It has its own biodynamic and organic garden which produces most of what is consumed at the guest table, including Montemar’s own organic coffee. For those seeking a luxury land-based Galápagos tour or a luxury tour combined with a cruise, the Montemar Luxury Villas is a perfect choice for your Galápagos travel! Montemar itineraries vary based on your budget, schedule, and activity preferences. We offer family oriented tours, extended length tours, SCUBA excursions, combination tours with a Galápagos cruise and, one of our most popular options is combining Montemar with a side trip to Isabela Island.
Your guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Those with more time can opt to arrive early and take guided excursions in the city and surrounding areas.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the Galápagos. Meet your guide at the Galápagos airport and transfer with your group to the highlands for your first activity and welcome lunch. Arrive at Montemar Eco Luxury Villas and enjoy a welcome briefing with your host. Settle into your luxury accommodations and have a refreshing cocktail or local juice as you watch the sunset over the Pacific before dinner.
Explore the Galápagos Islands! The number of days depends on your selected trip duration. Experience the many wonders of the Galápagos islands through a combination of boat excursions to nearby uninhabited islands and Santa Cruz island based explorations. The Santa Cruz tours are flexible with a private guide. You may opt to hike Cerro Mesa in search of giant tortoises, visit the town of Puerto Ayora, how to the Charles Darwin Research Center, and walk along the gorgeous Tortuga Bay. Wildlife is abundant everywhere and your guide will teach you about the natural history, and the flora and fauna. At the end of each exciting day, relax at Montemar Luxury Eco Villas in the Santa Cruz Highlands, your private villa! Enjoy the company of the hosts who will share their Galápagos life experiences with you. Dine on gourmet dinners prepared especially for you by your private chef using local and sustainable ingredients.
Possible adventure activities include kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, biking, diving. Explore neighboring uninhabited islands on boat day trips to North Seymour, Bartolomé, Plazas, or Santa Fé, where you’ll hike and snorkel. Each island has its own unique natural habitat and your guide will take you through the evolutionary marvels of your destination. The number of boat day trips varies depending on the itinerary you choose.
After your final breakfast in the Enchanted Isles, transfer to the airport for the trip back to Quito. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an evening at leisure.
Your guide transfers you to the airport for your international flight home. Travelers with more time will begin extension tours.
